PROPER AGITATION (SHAKING) BEFORE SPRAYING IS VERY IMPORTANT

Cerakote® raw materials and solvents will separate and settle over time, therefore, It is critical to be sure the raw materials and solvent are mixed thoroughly. If Cerakote® isn’t mixed properly, it will create an uneven ratio of these components, in return this will yield a coating rich in solvents and result in a glossy or transparent look. Without agitation the coating will be obviously inconsistent. When a bottle hasn’t been properly mixed, you will also find that the coating will become more viscous (thicker) which will result in poor spray-ability, aesthetics, and performance.

Cerakote® raw materials and solvents will separate and settle over time, be sure to vigorously shake Cerakote® if done by hand. We recommend using a paint shaker for proper agitation, see below for suggested mixing times.

  • C Series
  • Glacier Series
  • All Specialty Coatings

Helpful Hint: To make mixing a little easier, you can drop degreased marbles or hex nuts into the bottle of Cerakote® to assist in the agitation.
